Link building

Get into the pages that decide the shortlist.

Buyers don't find you on your homepage. They find you in a roundup someone else wrote. So does ChatGPT, when it picks three vendors to recommend and you aren't one of them.

Sound familiar?

Great pages, stuck on page two.

The content is better than what's ranking above it. It doesn't matter. They have the authority and you don't.

You're absent from every roundup.

Search "best tools in your category". Read the top five articles. Count how many name you.

You bought links and nothing moved.

Fifty DR40 placements on blogs nobody reads, pointed at a homepage that was never going to rank anyway.

"Custom pricing" on every quote.

Four agencies, four proposals, not one of them told you how many links you'd actually get.

You're losing on pages you don't own. Editing your homepage won't fix it.

What we do

Five ways we build authority.

All manual outreach. No PBNs, no link marketplaces, no bulk guest post networks.

Listicle and roundup placements

The "best X" and "top tools" articles your buyers read while building a shortlist, and the single biggest source AI engines pull from when asked to recommend a vendor.

  • Category roundups: the articles already ranking for your money terms.
  • Alternatives pages: where buyers land mid-switch.
  • Existing rankers: placements on pages with traffic today.

Guest posts on sites buyers read

Audience overlap beats domain rating. One placement in a publication your ICP actually opens is worth ten on a general marketing blog.

  • DA50+ threshold: with real organic traffic, checked manually.
  • Niche-relevant: your category, not "business and tech".
  • Editorial, in-content: never a footer or author-bio link.

Review sites and brand mentions

Unlinked mentions still count as trust signals to AI engines. We chase both the link and the mention, on the sources your category's answers already lean on.

  • Review platforms: the comparison surfaces buyers check.
  • Unlinked mentions: found, then converted where possible.
  • Lost link recovery: reclaim what's dropped off over time.

Competitor gap replication

Your competitors have already done the hard part of finding which publications say yes. We work their backlink profile and go after the ones that matter.

  • Gap analysis: domains linking to them, not to you.
  • Priority scoring: relevance and traffic before DR.
  • Targeted outreach: one at a time, by a human.

Pointed at pages that convert

The part most link vendors skip. Authority aimed at a page with no keyword strategy behind it is money spent on a number in a dashboard.

  • Money pages first: comparisons, alternatives, use cases.
  • Internal flow: equity routed onward, not stranded.
  • Anchor restraint: natural profile, held for the whole engagement.

No "custom pricing"

Here's what you actually get.

Every link DA50+, every placement earned by manual outreach.

PlanLink creditsContent pieces
Light 2 / month 4 / month
Silver 4 / month 7 / month
Gold 6 / month 10 / month

1 link credit = 1 backlink, and 2 link credits = 1 listicle mention. Each content piece is 1–3k words. Links and content move together. We'll shift the split toward whatever's driving pipeline rather than hitting a fixed count for the sake of it. See full pricing

Our process

How a placement actually happens.

Slower than buying links. It's the reason they still count in twelve months.

Map the surfaces

Which roundups rank for your money terms, which ones AI answers already cite, and which of them name your competitors but not you.

Vet the targets

DA50+, real organic traffic, topically relevant, editorially run. Checked by a person, because DR alone hides a lot of dead sites.

Pitch something worth publishing

Manual outreach with an angle an editor would actually want. Guest posts written to their standard, not spun to hit a word count.

Place and point

Link lands in-content, aimed at a page with a keyword strategy behind it, with an anchor profile that stays natural.

Monitor and reclaim

Track live links, rankings and AI mentions. Chase anything that drops, and convert unlinked mentions as they appear.

Not sure if this is you?

Pick your symptom.

Four things B2B marketers say on first calls, and what's usually behind them.

"Our content is better but they still outrank us."

Classic authority gap. Their domain has fifteen years of links behind it and yours has three. Content alone won't close it. This is the one problem links genuinely solve.

Areas 02 & 04
"ChatGPT recommends three competitors, never us."

Look at what it cites. It's almost always third-party roundups. If you're not named in the articles it trusts, no amount of work on your own site puts you in that answer.

Areas 01 & 03
"We bought 50 links and nothing happened."

Two likely reasons: the sites had domain rating but no real traffic or relevance, or the links pointed at pages with no keyword strategy behind them. Usually both.

Areas 02 & 05
"Nobody will tell me how many links I'm getting."

A fair thing to be annoyed about. Our counts are on this page by plan. If an agency won't state a threshold and a number, it's usually because the number moves depending on what they can source cheaply that month.

The numbers

FAQs

Straight answers.

Can we buy link building on its own?

Not usually, and we'd rather say so up front. Links work when they point at pages built to rank and convert. Pointed at the wrong pages they're an expensive way to move a number in Ahrefs. Link building runs as part of a wider programme.

Do you do digital PR?

Not currently. Data-led PR campaigns are a different discipline with a different cost base, and we'd rather point you to a specialist than half-run it. What we do is manual editorial outreach: guest posts, roundups, review sites and brand mentions.

Do backlinks still matter for AI search?

Yes, though not in the way they matter for Google. AI engines lean heavily on third-party roundups and comparison pages when picking which vendors to name. Getting into those pages is the most direct route into the answer, and an unlinked mention still counts.

What's your DA threshold, and why DA rather than DR?

DA50+ as the floor, with organic traffic and topical relevance checked manually on top. Neither metric is perfect, both can be inflated, which is why a person reviews every target rather than trusting the score.

How long before links move rankings?

Individual links can move a page-two ranking within weeks. Meaningful authority change is a quarter or two of consistent work. Anyone promising faster is either buying links or counting placements nobody sees.

What happens if a link disappears?

We monitor live links and chase anything that drops. Sites get sold, articles get pruned, editors change. Recovery is part of the ongoing work rather than a separate line item.
